“That’s when I had my Jerry Maguire moment. I hope I’m not dating myself with this movie, but remember when Tom Cruise had a bad slice of pizza and a nightmare and he suddenly grew a conscience?  He went on to write a mission statement about how tainted his industry had become and how the answer was less clients, less money, more caring. So, I wrote my version of a mission statement with the same title and the same cover and I put my intentions out into the world, because if we don’t make our intentions known, how can we be held accountable for our purpose in life? I started writing and I couldn’t stop until I filled about 10 pages with lessons and ideals as a way to challenge myself to come up with an antidote to all the poison that I had put out into the universe all those years ago.  Because of this mission, I worked so hard during this phase of my life and career to become more than just a for-profit company. Even working towards the same ideals from my non-profit experiences. But you can’t run a for-profit with non-profit ideals, right? Or can you?”
